Comment:
I swear I live for the chance to do a year end best of CD... That might make me a nerd, but at least I have this mix to show for it. I give out this comp. to friends and family as a holiday present - they always say the best gift is a hand made one, and I just happen to only be really crafty in the ways of mix Cds. :)Feedback:
Good picks - love the Jenny Lewis, YLT, Camera Obscura and Gnarls Barkley especially!
Wonderful collection. Lots of faves from '06, and a few ones I've yet to hear. If the offer of a trade is open, I'm interested :) Adore the Jenny Lewis track...
I think I'm the same way - the best part of the year, music-wise, seems to be the end when I can survey the landscape of my acquisitions and delights and put them all together for Best of Lists and mixes. It's probably infinitely more prevalent amongst music fans than you realize, so don't worry. Cool looking mix, too. You had a formidable year. My favorites, personally, are Morrissey (poor guy gets lost in the shuffle too much), Camera Obscura (beautiful stuff), Oxford Collapse, Band of Horses, and Calexico. And the fear I don't know (Jennifer O'Connor, Shearwater), I'm quite curious about now. Maybe they'll make my end-of-2007 list :) Good luck this year
Yes, yes, a wonderful collection indeed. Laura, always nice to see your end of year gift mix.
Looks good. I'm most partial to the Thom Yorke track, myself.
none of these tracks was on my 2006mix but I think like everyone anyway
Very nice, The Band of Horses track was one of my faves for 06.
Great wrap up. I picked the same two Sonic Outh and Beirut tracks on my own 2006 mix!
lots to love even in my very down mood . . . . 4, 5, 6 and 7 (almost) cheered me up . . . . (almost) . . .
I've always liked you year-end mixes, and this is no exception. I'm wrapping up my own -- interestingly, we have only about a half dozen artists in common (and for those artists, different songs in every case). Looks like I need to go check out some of these tunes.
Ah, Roka, good pick for them. Nicely atypical pick for Camera Obscura, too. Wasn't a big fan of that Jenny Lewis album, but that's one of the good ones.
