Comment:
First a little refresher...The Valisian Psycle: An ongoing series of mixes inspired by (and in Tribute to) Valis; a means of saying "thank you" for his tireless promotion of present-day psychedelic music and for the numerous psychedelic publication recommendations he has made during the time I have come to know him.A Little Background: Starting at 7:16 p.m., July 17th, I began to compile a list of songs I wanted to fuse together as a Tribute to Valis. On December 20th, I put the final touches on what became one of the most auspicious mixing projects I have had the pleasure of completing. Prior to the holidays, I sent the completed box, which in total comprised:- The Three-Disc Psychedelic Rock Tumbler: Excursions - Acid Archive Favorites
- 5 Mind-Melt Listening Station Volumes (one of a thematic nature) - AND...3 Double-Disc Stylistic Musical "Explorations". Barring working on other mixes (and other endeavors; work, relationships, family, etc.) my focus was the non-stop distillation of neo-psych/garage-revival music, sequencing, editing, cover-art production and research required to complete this package. Whew!!!So...here is the second installment of the series (with future installments to be posted in the upcoming days). This particular entry is packed with high-energy "spacey" tracks, jams, etc...Editors Note: Downloads will be made available via Valis' Blog. Notice, of which, will occur during upcoming installment posting.
Feedback:
Very nice Chris. Valis is worth the tribute. I can't wait to see/hear the rest.
Not only auspicious but ambitious too. Outstanding tribute. Latter day psych is bubbling with delights. Hail Valis, and Chris too.

Love the looks of this and love the cover. I've been listening to a "sun" theme mix by musicgnome today in the car and it has been blowing my fucking mind. You go, boy.
some stuff i know here & lots i don't, which all looks very interesting & very cool.
Another masterpiece as per usual! Great cover as well.
Mind melting indeed... this looks awesome.
A tribute to that low down miscreant what were you thinking of Chris? Actually can't think of anyone more deserving of a psychtastic mix like this; Bravo for a job extremely well executed.
You continue to amaze.
Volume XII, Part II? This is getting complicated. Looks fantastic though. I think I've heard of this Valis fellow, somewhere.
Yes, I think I've heard of this Valis fella also, isn't he King of a small country or something? Another winner from the magical gnome...
Yes, that kid from St. Louis is an inspiring fella. This looks like it came right off the Valis mix assembly line. Fantastic cover art, brilliant tunes and even a customized CD label make this the total package. Bravo from the cheap seats!
Super furry mix!!!
Downright purty it is. A Valis blog? How did I miss that?
wow ! what can I say ?
Impressively thorough, and so modern! Orquesta del Desierto is particularly intriguing. I had completely forgotten about Tripping Daisy (although frankly I'd rather forget their cover of Green Tambourine). I'm sure Valis is in ecstasy listening to this.
