Comment:

Hey all. Haven't been stomping around AOTM as much as I would like to these days but managed to finish up a mix this week while I'm taking some personal time off of work. It's another one along the lines of my previous entry, "Drunk To Sleep", as it's another personal "exorcising of the demons" mix for me. A few folks 'round here already know this, but I've been in the process of splitting up with my wife of 11 years since November (lots of issues to sort out plus 4 kids=still living in the house=SUPER stressful). Luckily, I have been getting a lot of support from friends, both here at home and online, and we're working towards the best, most amicable solution we can to benefit the kids. Hard times, but I know in my heart that it will get better soon. Anyways, having been around here for a long time now, I know that the AOTM community has always been a place that is supportive during times like these. You guys are the best.
Well, enough of the sappy stuff. Link will be available soon for those who want it through the usual channels or drop me a line and I'll send it to ya. I went through Megaupload this time, so let me know if there's any problems.

Oh yeah. Forgot to add that the Grinderman track is a new Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds "side project" and it fucking RULES!!!

sounds tough, my friend... but it's heartening to know that you have the support you need right now... and to address the above comp, as per usual, your song selections are outstanding.. i think i like the posies selection most... and i'll have to check out the grinderman... perhaps via the "usual channels"... ;)

Sorry to hear about your situation, Shawn. I hope you and your wife are getting all the support you need. Mix is great, of course. I've been listening to a lot of Neil Young lately.

As you know, Shawn, I'm here for you. Great mix, even if it seems painful as hell. Some favorite picks: Spacemen 3, Drive-By Truckers (god, that song is harrowing), Neil Young, Beck (my favorite of his), Stooges, the Scud Mt Boys version of that Pernice tune, and Nirvana. I've been meaning to check out Grinderman and will do so now...

they say from pain comes the greatest art -- no complaints here. this is just as rip-your-heart-out-of-your-chest as the last one -- love the stooges, nirvana, matthew sweet, beck, neil young, tom petty & posies tracks above all. i'm sorry to hear about your situation, i hope things work out for you. good luck...

As noted previously, I wish you all the best. And, if there's anything...well, you know the drill. Anything, anytime. And, now, on to this mix. I put the opening tracks into a playlist on iTunes, played...then replayed...then replayed (a little music as toil away on the upload tip)And, all I can say is, I am already hooked. Can't wait to hear this in it's entirety.

Sorry to hear about the break-up, but you'll always have music -- unless of course she ends up with the CD collection;) Great mix, and yes, there's always an upside somewhere around the corner.

Condolences and congratulations in whatever proportion seems most appropriate. This is a killer mix. Catharsis always makes for strong segues. I'm with Zeke on planning to check out Grinderman.
