Comment:
It's too bad thereisn't a "dreamy"
category, because that's what I would prefer to put this under. A wonderful poet once said, "The poet makes himself a seer by a long, prodigious, and rational disordering of all the senses," and that is precisely what I'm attempting to show with this 2-disc mix. The mix consists of a few ambient instrumentals, songs that have dreamy and sublime outros or interludes, and "mind-altering" soundscapes and/or lyrics. Some would fall under the psychedelic category, others under the shoegaze category, and others under the ambient category. They all share one common factor though: they can all make you feel as if you're on a completely different plane or world. There are many other artists/tracks I could keep adding on to this mix, and perhaps it'll be a never-ending project, but so far this mix consists of 2 parts that include the likes of Brian Eno, Sonic Youth, and Spacemen 3 on one disc, and the likes of My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Philip Glass on another. And who can deny that beautiful sonic outro in that Yo La Tengo track? That has got to be one of the most beautiful outros ever. :-)
