Comment:
The Valisian Psycle: An ongoing series of mixes inspired by (and in Tribute to) Valis; a means of saying "thank you" for his tireless promotion of present-day psychedelic music and for the numerous psychedelic publication recommendations he has made during the time I have come to know him.Final Mind-Melt Broadcast within the Psycle. And, quite possibly, the best collection of "accessible" songs I've ever put together. Or, to put it another way, my girlfriend's "...favoritist mix EVER!!!"A nod must go to Moe whom I must've channeled while digging and compiling the various indie pop, psych pop and art pop nuggets found within this volume. So, for now, a final HUZZAH to Valis!Editor's Note: Continue to visit Trip Inside This House blog as the remaining volumes of The Psycle have been (and will continue to be) posted.Editor's Note - Part II: Artwork (only partial images of overall artwork) by David Barnes (Of Montreal fame) located at the The Bee With Wheels websiteFeedback:
this looks untouchably great -- a proper & fitting footnote to an endlessly mind-bending series. great work, gnome...
Remember Meg Ryan in 'When Harry Met Sally'? Yeah, you know the scene I mean. Well, I'm feeling a lot like her right now. Absolutely mind bogglingly brilliant.
A Wonderful series that I thought could get no better, somehoe just has. Oooh, I feel an editorial coming on....

an exemplary collection - surprised to see so many bands I'm familiar with - enjoy the doves but never got into the Super Furries - always fun to see The Stranglers - now they were nasty!
Poppycock! Our man Valis is getting spoiled rotten. And yes, this is right up my alley. My fingers would get sore typing out all my favorist songs on this mix. My head did feel a bit strange the last few days, so it must have been all the channeling;) Guess I shouldn't have bought the Excedrin.
What's this accessible mumbo jumbo all about? Ha, ha, jk. This looks extraordinarily well thought out, and great music from what I know.
How did Athens GA become such a musical center? I'm counting 5 here, and another band that I like, Mendoza Line, started there as well.
Excellent, excellent work here, gnome.

Interesting point regarding Athens, Georgia. Other include: music Athens luminaries - R.E.M & The B52's. Add to that: Je Suis France, Pylon, Elf Power, Japancakes, Matthew Sweet (I think) and two personal faves and unlike acts/artists: Harvey Milk and The Drive-By Truckers.
Oh, wow. I really thought things could only go downhill after the last volume ;) Well okay, I did not actually think that, but I really am surprised that it just seems to be getting better and better. Looks absolutely great!
Running out of superlatives, another brilliant installment. The Essex Green, Flaming Lips, Shins and Daniel Johnston tracks in particular jump out at me.
My God, this mix it awsome from top to bottom. This has to be my favorite series on this site.
Holy crap, that's a rich collection of awesome pop. Looking forward to indulging in it.
this is one of the most incredible mixes i've seen, hands down.
Too many top tunes/bands to merit singling any out for specific attention. Chris you've completed a masterpiece, what more can I say?
This looks like it might be my favoritist too! Dismayed by my ignorance on the L.A. scene represented here, and excited to be enlightened. Thanks!
Great swansong. Nice artwork. SFA and Pastels- swoon!
Everything's moving here. But wherever it happens to land. I'll be there...
Shimmering!
Shimmering!
Fantastic!!
Christ on a freaking bike, you are welcome to go pop any day of the week because this is special. Yummmmmmmmmmy!
Hey, I was wondering - is there any way to convince you to switch to using another service for uploading your mixes in the future? It might just be a geographical problem (if I'm the only person having troubles, then, by all means, just ignore this), but at least from an Austrian IP, it is damn near impossible to get the download to work - "all download slots for your country are currently taken, please try again in a few hours", and believe me, I've tried again a lot. I used to avoid this by going in via a proxy server, but A) this slowed everything down considerably, B) my proxy program inexplicably stopped working a few days ago, so I'm at a loss now.
Oh, and I've said this before, but it can't really be stressed enough: This mix looks fantastic.

sometimes I wish I was Valis
this whole series is just incredible. AMAZING. i mean, geez.
have been going through withdrawals, and I'd really like to melt my mind today. but side one DL is 'temporarily unavailable.' I'm left-brained, and it doesn't seem right to only melt the right half. what can I do? this looks almost overwhelmingly good. and thanks for your superkind comments on my new one, musicgnome.
I like the look of this.
