Comment:
Another collection I did for my car. None of my frieds knew about Fred Neil, so I thought it was good to do a single disc with my favourite tracks, just to let them hear one of the best singer/songwriters ever. 79 minutes of pure brilliance. It's a great record to listen to while driving on a highway (tested on an italian highway, but it should work anywhere I guess eheh). I tried to alternate as much as possible bluesy tracks with ballads and "jammed" songs, I think it flows very well. Last track "Sky is Fallin'" is the only live recording of this cd, I added it like a closing little gem, since it's the only version available of this beautiful blue song and Fred's performance is great. The real closing track is "Ya Don't Miss Your Water", duet with Gram Parsons, which is a gentle but powerful track, I think it's great for a closer!Feedback:
Wonderful collection of a great artist.
I love Fred Neil and did one of these myself five years ago (check it out at http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcontents.asp?strMixID=26213) and we can compare notes. Nice job.
hey Rob, didn't notice you did a Fred Neil mix!! It's great to see how similar their are, I thought I was the only one in love with December's Dream! It's a great job, well done to you Rob.
I was given 'The Dolphins' on a mix once and it really was a stand-out track. I really need to hear more!
Picked up Bleecker And MacDougal a couple of months ago, before that I only knew his tunes as done by Karen Dalton, Nice job here,
Stellar. Great and underappreciated.
You can't go wrong with Mr Neil
