Comment:
These are my favorite Gram Parsons songs, sequenced chronologically. Normally, I avoid sequencing this way, but it seemed to fit, plus I don't think there is any way to mess up a Gram Parsons mix. I made this mix over five years ago, and it still seems new everytime I listen to it. Gram Parsons is one of the few artists I never get tired of hearing. A Song For You is my all-time favorite song, with Dark End Of The Street and Hickory Wind not too far behind. All songs come from the two-disc Gram Parsons anthology, Sacred Hearts and Fall Angels.Feedback:
yep - undeniable!
Can't agree with you more. But while I'm a big Burrito's fan, I'm still kind of partial to James Carr's version of Dark End.
I would have to go with James Carr too, although my favorite cover version of the song would be Gram Parsons. Linda Ronstadt and Percy Sledge's versions are pretty good too.
A Song For You is great, but I prefer Whiskeytown's version on the Return Of the Grievous Angel tribute album.
