Despite what this mix might be pretending to, I'm not really a cowboy -- truth is I'm about as citified a sissy dude as ever fell off the wrong end of a horse -- & I don't know if Lucinda & Madeleine would ever really go to a rodeo together - BUT, one thing I like about making these mini-soundtracks is that you get to star in the movie in your mind for as long as it's playing - and in this case, the movie is, of course, a Western.

I love Jimmy Dale Gilmore, his song, Tonight I think I'm gonna go downtown , is one of my all time favs. Great looking mix , I also like the Robbie Fulks pick as well. Keep on truckin' cowboy ;)

looks terrific. lots of favorite singers here (Wanda Jackson, Del McCoury, Webb Pierce, etc.) w/ songs I'm not familiar with. I've got k.d. lang singing "Western Stars" and can imagine the great things Chris Isaak would do with it, assuming it's the same song.
