Comment:
Despite what this mix might be pretending to, I'm not really a cowboy -- truth is I'm about as citified a sissy dude as ever fell off the wrong end of a horse -- & I don't know if Lucinda & Madeleine would ever really go to a rodeo together - BUT, one thing I like about making these mini-soundtracks is that you get to star in the movie in your mind for as long as it's playing - and in this case, the movie is, of course, a Western.Feedback:
I love Jimmy Dale Gilmore, his song, Tonight I think I'm gonna go downtown , is one of my all time favs. Great looking mix , I also like the Robbie Fulks pick as well. Keep on truckin' cowboy ;)
Nice one, my old man would love this. The penultimate track is the bizz far as I'm concerned.
one spin of this is enough to get anybody wishing to be a cowboy -- lots of tremendous stuff here
Porter, Merle, Webb, Hank. Marvellous. Ruddy marvellous...
Hitch up the hoss! Next round is on de vivre!
Some great selections here!
Both kinds of music ... Country AND Western! Nicely done, ditto nola on Jimmie Dale Gilmore
LOVE wagon wheel!
some very nice choices, esp. the Old Crow track.
Excellent choices from start to finish. An a great cover choice. Makes me want to hit the trail.
looks terrific. lots of favorite singers here (Wanda Jackson, Del McCoury, Webb Pierce, etc.) w/ songs I'm not familiar with. I've got k.d. lang singing "Western Stars" and can imagine the great things Chris Isaak would do with it, assuming it's the same song.
ilove Cowboy songs and I love beer ergo I love x 2 this mix. Great job.
Oh man I love that Merle Haggard track. Rest looks great too.
Gorgeous mix. Can we call you East Bay Red?
I think I will mosey on up to the bar an order a shot of beer to wiper off the trail dust and listen to this mix.
yee haw, NICE!
Hell yeah, sissy-boy!
