Comment:

A few years back there was a show on Irish TV called No Disco, essentially an underground music video show that I religiously recorded to VHS. I was introduced to stuff like Vic Chesnutt, Lambchop et al. As a 19 year old it pretty much decided my future musical preferences and opened my eyes and ears. dEUS, however, were the band that totally grabbed me and led me to a truckload of related Belgian acts like Moondog JR/Zita Swoon, Rudy TrouvT and Mauro Pawlowski. As a matter of fact I have a belgian artists comp on the back burner soon to see the light of day.
I promised my good friend Markus a dEUS mix almost a year ago so I made good my promise eventually. Last tracks cut: Theme from Turnpike, Fell Off the Floor Man and Morticiachair.

How beautiful the poetry, how beautiful the prose... ;)
I could point out all sorts of omissions here, but nothing that should be cut, so my complaint would come down to "why didn't you make this a double disc?". Why, Barry, why?

I am seriously, seriously interested in hearing this, as I've heard of them but have heard nothing by them.

Glad of this, as I haven't got much in the way of deus. I have Little Arithmetics, which I believe was their biggest UK hit ( 44 with a bullet ). And (yawn) a cover of thirteen, although I suspect that may have been recorded before every band and his dog decided to have a stab at it ( no Elliott Smith pun intended ).

Well, I am quite the ignoramus!. So thanks for the lesson, barry. I love you (in a very manly and completely above board way, of course). Phew, that was close!

Same for me as many of the below - they're one of those 'must check out at some point' bands. And now I can! Obrigada

Totally know nothing about this band - or any of the other "related Belgian acts" you speak of... Which means I now have homework to do. Fun homework.
