Even though it's not punk or new wave, I had to include Kirsty MacColl's "They Don't Know". The line between new wave and mainstream rock blurs, as acts initially called "new wave" start selling lots of records.

Also, two DICKIES songs are included because they released two albums in 1979.

I'm 100% with you apart from Cheap Trick . . . I just didn't get that American MOR rubbish . . .
