Comment:

Why yes, this is a strange mix. This has been in um... production for a long time. It was originally planned as my anniversary mix (3rd? 4th?) back in February, but work got in the way. There's reggae and jazz and soul and folk, yikes. Lots of instrumentals.

And hey, look! None of my usual suspects.

Some notes: the title is from the Big Shirley song. Does anyone out there know anything about Big Shirley besides the fact that they are rockin' funky? This is a great song, but I have no idea where I got this CD.If you see it, grab it.

The Ernest Ranglin is a must-own record.

I played that Turtles song 100 times last summer. That one deserves some great cover versions.

Deal is one of my very favorite Dead songs and I do believe I was present at the show.

John Martyn sounds like Danko or someone from The Band on this cut.

I prattle.
