Comment:
Another one from the past two years when I wasn't posting much. It has been a rainy, stormy week here, in more ways than one. Seemed like a good time to get caught up on this series, which I keep working on, but don't always get around to posting. The two versions of Lennon/McCartney "Rain" don't even sound like the same song. The beauties are Frisell, Neville, and Merrill. Big Maybelle could make it rain with her force. And the opener is one of those philosophical rain songs. I think it came from a splitter who has migrated out of our ranks ...Feedback:
I'm a big fan of rain, in fact I have never in my life owned an umbrella. No coincidence then, that I'm a fan of a lot of these songs. Oh and yes that Frisell track is a beauty.
Wonderful.
I so love the Beatles track. I am going to make a sun mix to counter act the rain.
i'm with terry on the beatles tune - one of my top 20 or so all-time favorite songs; the neil young track is a real favorite of mine too, & i love the fred neil pick. the rest looks great as usual, really love this one...
Great!
Some people love the rain, but into each life some sun must shine.
Looks like you found quite a few interesting covers in here.

I wish it would rain... there's a flood down in Texas... when the levee breaks...
Great stuff, although I couldn't possibly do a rain mix aithout a Tom Waits song.
There are lots of great rain songs, and this collects a bunch of 'em.
Glad to see your rich vain of form continue with another fab mix, Sally. I've never owned an umbrella either. Strange as I live in the rainiest city in the world probably ( Manchester UK )...
can't be too many songs about rain I think.,
I'm feckin' sick of the bloody rain out here in France, nice mix but I'm with Terry here.
Like it - but volume FIVE? Wow. I think the Scottish AotMers might disagree with Sam's rain claim...
I love rain. and we get plenty of it here in Seattle, almost as much as in Manchester or Scotland, maybe. this brilliant collection simply washes the competition away. one of my favorite rain songs that would fit nicely here is "Rhythm of the Rain" by Jacky Ward.
all these rain dances are playing havoc with the Uk weather, I see . . . .so by my reckoning Sally, you must have collected close to 100 rain songs so far . . . . impressive . . .
