Comment:

This is a mix of one of my all-time favorite artists, Stevie Nicks, and her band, Fleetwood Mac. I don't think Stevie gets the credit she deserves for being a pioneer. For me, it is hard not to notice when I am listening to a classic rock station that Stevie Nicks' voice is one of the few (if not the only) female voices I am hearing. I definitely admire Stevie not only for being a female fronting one of the most famous classic rock bands of all-time, but also then for branching out as a solo artist at a time when females weren't really played on the radio. When she wasn't drugged out, Stevie was amazing for her ability to put introspective lyrics in a rock context (obviously with a lot of help from Lindsey Buckingham). I think her songs from Tusk (my favorite Fleetwood Mac album) are the best example of this, but other favorites include Landslide, After The Glitter Fades, and Leather And Lace.
