Comment:

Hey y'all. A new mix from yr friend sp in nc, as promised. Pretty happy with how this turned out. It's not as big a bummer as my mixes over the holidays. Though I think those were some of my best efforts ever. ODB opener is mostly inspired by the great opening scene in the movie Knocked Up from earlier this summer. Oh yeah, the version of that Blind Melon song is fucking killer. Slowed waaay down, kinda bluesy and fucked up. No apologies there. I've always had a soft spot for those dudes. Same thing for Kix. One of the best 80's metal bands ever. Thanks to my little brother for turning me on to those guys when we were kiddos. Yeah, that's about it.

Whole thing looks fantastic, but the 10-14 stretch looks absolutely righteous.

well I like this a lot . . . . and somewhat surprisingly, I know the more trippy version of 'no rain' - I prefer it (in context).

the stones, odb, costello & hutch are the pegamento [for me].

Sorry to hear about trouble with the ex, but better to compile a mix than dwell on the unpleasantries of life. Nice picks from GBV and the Vaselines.

Great tracks everywhere. Love the Willie Hutch, GBV, Aliens and Stones. Killer opener too...

Yeah, that opening scene from Knocked Up was great. Lovin' Dirt McGirt. Also digging that Mudhoney tune, which I haven't heard for ages (but I recently watched Nirvana's perfromance of the track at there Reading '92 show) and that GBV track. Can't wait to give this a listen....

This looks fantastic, as ever, my friend. I don't get the Kix thing, but hey, I'm sure it fits here. ;-)

Looks outstanding, as usual.
I agree with Rob about Kix, I saw them when I lived in Baltimore for a while...

Great kickoff track, and "Hot Freaks" is always a great pick. "Paint It Black" may be my favorite Stones track as well.

lots of these were new to me, though my colleague here at work knew just about all of them. pretty awesome cover of "Let's Do It," and also liked the Drunk Horse, 16 Horsepower, Aliens, Mogwai and Nicks/Petty tracks. that last one is an old favorite. nice work.

Lots to discover, love the Stones and the two closers and you can rarely go wrong with ODB.
