This mix was actually made just a little over a year ago, July 2006. After three years of living in Taiwan, it was time for me to leave. I really didn't want to leave, but I was moving onto a good future... it was a pretty emotional, but optimistic departure. Several of my coworkers, all expatriates, were leaving as well. It seemed the end of an era. This mix was compiled for the big farewell bash that was held at a coworker's apartment. I aimed to make a "party" mix -- not necessarily music for dancing, but music that I would like to hear at a party. A loose narrative somehow worked its way unconsciously into the mix, little resonant lyrical snippets popping out.
