Comment:

This is a mix of Chinese oldies (1930's-1970's) for a guy in Canada who really likes Yao Su Rong (a wonderful female singer who was popular across Asia in the 1960's and 1970's, and was featured on QDK Media's Asian Takeaways compilation). I helped him write a mini bio on her, for his zine. I also promised him a mix CD that would have more like Yao Su Rong... and that was about a year and a half ago. I finally got a chance to put this together over my Chinese New Year vacation -- hence, the unimaginative title.Perhaps I'll update this mix with more information later. For now, I just want to get this tracklist up, because this has taken me way too long! Some track names are just untranslatable. Track 1 is a classic New Year's song.

Fascinating, for sure, but I can't say I know anything about this stuff. Perhaps we can trade again someday.
