Comment:
Hardly an original idea as I see several mixers have paid tribute to the Bristol based record label. Many years ago I made a cassette dedicated to Sarah, before the label voluntarily executed itself, so later acts like Aberdeen never featured. Funny now in these days of downloads how furious some Sarah devotees reacted when Sarah had the audacity to embrace the CD format. Eventually progress, appealing or otherwise, makes a mockery of many principles. Whatever, the music remains, a testament to the indie ethic, and while some of it is a little inconsequential, much of it justifies the belief, effort and sacrifice Matt and Clare, Sarah's owners, made.Feedback:
F yeah! 14 Iced Bears, Field Mice, Sea Urchins, Orchids, Poppyheads and Heavenly!Heavenly, indeed.
This is beautiful and perfect for summer listening.
Oh this is beautiful. Just as musicgnome said but also with East River Pipe a real fave of mine.
Just wonderful, one of my favourite ever labels. Surprised at not seeing the Trembling Blue Stars but the Field Mice inclusion more than makes up for it. Agree with all of the Gnomes highlights, and the rest...
i'm just beginning to discover this label, so this is something i'd love to hear.
Unfortunately I am not familar with anything excepts for the Springfields.
This looks like a GREAT Sarah tribute. What must I do to acquire a copy of this?
This mix is giving me a Sarah smile. Great label. Great bands. Heavenly. Even As We Speak. Sugargliders. Motorhead. They could do no wrong.
Yes,Motorhead were going to be Sarah release no.101 but they couldn't meet with Lemmy's demands of 60 cans of lager a day whilst in the studio.
