Comment:

Continuing on with songs from Rolling Stone's "Greatest 500 Songs of All Time" -- these are some of my favorite 70s classics. This was probably the hardest decade for me to do because I am not a big fan of 70s music. Nevertheless, some of my favorite artists do appear here, including The Velvet Underground, Big Star, CCR, Van Morrison, Neil Young, and Bruce Springsteen. The song Rolling Stone rated as the top song for the 1970s (which I did not include in my mix) was John Lennon's Imagine, which Rolling Stone classified as the #3 song of all-time. My personal favorite from the 70s is probably Lean On Me, although Midnight Train to Georgia would be a close second.

No love for "Imagine"? Yeah I think it's a bit overrated myself. Good picks all around. If I were looking at the list I might mention some that I think deserve inclusion but it's not necessary. This is stuffed with classic after classic. I can hear the whole thing in my head and it's bringing me good vibes - I think you captured a great tone with the progression and selection. I was gonna say that the track 3-10 run was especially impressive as a cohesive unit but that's practically the whole mix, so let's just call it an all-around work of excellence

Certainly can't argue with this line-up, killer from top to bottom (although I think "Imagine" would have had to make mine.)
