This mix turned up in the midst of a move and brought back a lot of fond memories. I made it when I was a junior in high school (one of the few mixes I took the time to date), and I had just started to discover there was more to rap music than what was played on the radio. As you can see, the tracklisting reads like a backpacker's manifesto as I was listening to a lot of Rawkus and Battle Axe releases at the time. Nevertheless, I felt it was pretty solid and I jammed it pretty hard on road trips, the soccer bus, on walkabouts, whatever.
