Comment:

So, I just recently moved to the Boston area (West Medford, specifically) and I wanted to make a mix tape to play during some my drive from metro-Detroit. For the most part, all I can find is songs with "Boston" or "Massachusetts," or some other related word in the title, that have nothing to do with Boston and/or Massachusetts. With the exception of the entire catalog of the Dropkick Murphys, the few songs that actually have the word Boston in the lyrics are all about how everything is shit in my present location, so I'm going to Boston. Which is apparently the Emerald City. No one ever says (except DKM) how great everything is once they get to Boston. I don't know what I was expecting. So, I gave up and pulled together almost everything Boston/Massachusetts I could think of. Rant over.

What about Jonathan Richman? Every second tune he writes is about Boston, MA. I recommend "Roadrunner," "Government Center" and "Girlfriend."
