Comment:

I decided to craft a mix that somewhat reflects the tumult of emotions I experienced during the first few months while going through a separation and divorce. These are the songs I was actually listening to while wallowing in self-pity, sadness and loneliness. And drinking too much, too often, of course.

It's a depressing mix, but I've gotten past that despairing part, so future mixes ought to be a bit more upbeat. I promise!

A lot of the songs on here are ones I love regardless of the context, like the Colin Hay, the Nina Simone (one of the best. songs. ever.), Bill Withers... Great, great stuff. Download the RAR from Divshare. Hope you enjoy!

Very nice. However I feel compelled to suggest that she may have left because you listen to Sting.

"However I feel compelled to suggest that she may have left because you listen to Sting."

HAH! That is hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh so hard!

And thanks for the comments. This is a damnably cool place, and I can't wait to post more mixes. Cheers!

listened yesterday: great opener, Bill Withers pick, Mike Doughty... that Nina Simone song is a full experience every time. Chris Isaak is usually so mellow, but here he sounds madder than a hornet. thanks for the link.

This looks FANTASTIC.
I'm looking forward to hearing it. The "Misery and Gin" song looks excellent.

Sorry about your woes; however.

Very nice debut, Gabe, I hope I never have the occasion to mix one of these up myself.

I'm digging the look of this and busily finding some of the songs.

My favorite mixtapes are sad mixtapes.
