Comment:
Merci a Gobi pour le Doctor Jekyll et Monsieur Hyde (pardon my French)In the immortal words of Monsieur John Cleese, "And now for something completely different!"
My original idea was to make a mix dedicated to Marie Antoniette because I did a paper about her for French class. But then I wanted to put this reggae version of "It's a Small World" which sounded like the Carimi song, plus my dad and I just for fun put the French Taunter from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Before my parents were married, my mami had a lot of French friends in college who introduced her to Jean-Louis Murat. What is really funny about them is, that every time they ordered chicharr=n, they pronounced chingarr=n, which sounds like a bad word in Mexico.
So, anyways, tonight I came up with the title Frogs in Disneyland because it IS a small world after all! ;-)
posdata from doowad: no offence on the frog comment, eh? Although doowadette has not tried them, I have always enjoyed a good batch of frog legs, fresh out of the pond.
posdata from doowadette: íGUACALA DE POLLO!
Oh, and a big shout-out to Lorenita for her help!
Feedback:
lots of stuff i'd love to explore here...
Ditto Anthony, plus "lots of good stuff here" in general.
Professor Longhair ! Excellent.
C'est magnifique!
cool! I like it! :D
I only know about half of whats here, but it's a great half. I'm sure the rest is pretty great as well.
Like that Chuck Berry/Professor Longhair combo.
Wow, love Zevon, Professor Longhair, Beausoleil, Chuck and Louis and that Python bit is an all-time fav. Well Done!
Simply wonderful. Expansive, well conceived and intriguingly diverse. Kudos (I'd say that in French, if I knew how).
Un melange superb.
nice jouney from wasteland to disneyland
Kathryn should really comment on this as she speaks fluent French but like me I think she'd know very little here although we both love a bit of Gainsbourg.
Ditto French Connection.
Tu parles, Charles!!
tout juste, Auguste !
C'est tres cool, Raoul !!!
Je vous remercie de tout coeur. Merci mille fois!

what they all said
Vive la diffTrence! A la v(tre!
A work of genius.. Terrific mix title also. So so good...
At least as good as a plate of choucroute in December.
Oui! That's the only French word I know (and my favorite magazine from the 70s), but that word applies to this mix (Oui does mean yes, doesn't it?)
oui it does
Oui oui, doowad Ttait fier de sa fille
I see music, talent, and Monty Python all run in the family! Your dad alerted me to this mix and it is a beauty. Unfortunately, the most important blue word isn't still working. ;(
P.S. This reminds me of Crunch Frog - only the finest South American frogs, lightly killed.
