Well, what can I say? My inspiration to make this mix was actually my dad. One day after school, (and after work) I told him that in Literacy we are listening to song that have to involve the Reconstruction, Jim Crow Era, and Civil Rights. So, he told me about the song Strange Fruit . And Then it struck me like lightning! Well, not really but anyways as I was saying, It struck me that I should do a Billie Holiday Mix. And gosh, I guess I have listened to Billie since I was a baby. Guess who introduced me to her? Yep that's righty-o.. MY DAD!!! My daddy has pushed me so hard to do my best. Whether its school, basketball, softball or mixing. He's always there for me and will always love me no matter what. So right now as I am typing this I want to really dedicate this to my dad since I'm not going to be with him for Father's Day ?. So Daddy, íFELIZ DIA DE LOS PADRES! Strange Fruit, one of the saddest, most moving and terrifying songs ever written. My dad shoved Glenn Miller down my ears when I was growing up but, to be fair, he liked Billie too.
