Comment:
More mostly forgotten artists culled from the scrapyard of the punk and post punk scene in Britain. This time I've taken a few tracks from compilations as well as singles. Labels in brackets, those tunes with second brackets denote from which compilation they were rescued. QUIZ: If anyone can name from which cities/regions the compilation LPs/singles came from they win the mix (not including the cities mentioned in the LP titles). Four cities/regions will be enough to triumph. If the winner can name more I'll throw in a free random mix.Feedback:
Not much I know here bar the Swell Maps & Clique. But that could all change as I have a stab at answering the quiz..
Coventry and Leicester - is that too obvious? Manchester and London are my other two answers.. Did any of these tracks ever feature in a boots advert?

If Sammy doesn't know much here, then this redneck knows less than zero. I will have to google a few of these...
Well, I've heard of the Swell Maps...
I've heard of about 4 bands here... real obscure.
As for the quiz, here's some wild guesses: Leeds, Sheffield, Leicester, and London?

I've heard of about 4 as well. I assume that many of them only saw life in the 7-inch single format and that we shouldn't expect a 5-disc boxed set from any of the above. As for the quiz, I'm going to take a wild stab in the dark at the answer: Glascow, Carlisle, Berlin and Manchester.
Sammy G, you can't have Coventry and Leicester as they were mentioned in the Lp titles. Respect for your audacity. London is wrong. MOE : I know we defeated Germany in the war but we didn't make Berlin a British enclave. Still a very impressive attempt. Not a winner yet though.
SALMAN 1 : Sorry, try again.

nothing...I know nothing. But "Stocking Clad Nazi Death Squad Bitches" sure sounds intrigueing!
I'd love to hear this, as your first volume really *is* a corker.
My guesses are Hertfordshire, Scunthorpe & Grimsby in South Humberside, Edinburgh, and the hometown of the sexiest man on earth: Manchester.
Orchid,I wish you were right simply for the strange choices. The Scunthorpe scene has not been properly documented due to the fact it hasn't yet been discovered. I can see where you're coming from, trying to pin down the East comp I expect. Hertfordshire, a wild guess and wrong.
I know even less here than Doowad, which somehow puts me into double-negative territory. but I've watched lots of Miss Marple mysteries and I have a world atlas on my desk, so I'll give your quiz a try: I (perhaps incorrectly) gather from your replies to others that Manchester and Edinburgh are right, and my magic random atlas finger-pointing says that Salman was on the right track w/ Leeds and that Oxford is the missing link. yah? in any case, I'd bet that this is one real cool mix.
tornadoZ, you're halfway there although I'm being slightly liberal with one of your correct answers. And here's a clue, Moe got one right that nobody else guessed (not Berlin !).
Totally unknown to me.
This is one of the finest mixes I've seen to these boards. It hits me in all the right spot. And, admittedly, you had me with obscure. Any introductions are always met with great delight.
