Comment:

Continuing my adventure through the alphabet I've focused on the letter O. Observant AOTMers will have noticed I'm concentrating on the vowels first.
Artists cut at the final moment: O Level, Outcasts (the late 70's punk band) Obtainers and Oasis, well they were never considered. Accidentally left off Ohio Express. O well.

You wouldn't consider Oasis (whose--IMO--first record is near-classic, second album is quite fine, and other records, while deeply flawed, each have a couple of good-to-great tracks on them, particularly the latest one), but you included, say, the Orange Humble Band (who, to me, are pretty standard-issue, semi-mediocre power-pop, even when Ken Stringfellow sings for them)? We have different tastes, my friend, but that's what the world is all about. I just had to say *something* after your crack about the Gallaghers & Co. ;-)

Interesting stuff, I might have included the O'Jays, Ollabelle. the Outlaws, Odetta, Outkast, the Old '97's, Oysterhead and Ozzy Osborne, but I'm with you on Oasis.

But would you put Blur on an 'Artists Beginning With B' mix? I certainly would, but back to this. Terrific. Hooray for 1,7,13,15,19 and the closing two. Are the two Orchids different bands?

No questioning these choices. This mix reminds me of an album by a band, O'rang, which I must revisit. Thanks for the stroll down fond memory lane.

The first Orchids is a band on Sarah records from the 80's and 90's and the latter Orchids is the fab 60's girl group.

"O" my! Yes, the Ohio Express should have made the cut, but there's little else here (or not here) to complain about -- though I'm sure the Oasis brothers would whine a little bit. Okay. One complaint: Where's the early 80s Kim Fowley-produced girl group the Orchids? :)
