Comment:

Meet Ava. She turns six on January 31.

All three of my daughters love music. But Ava is the one with the headphones, the future AotM-er. Her favorite movie is Moulin Rouge. Her favorite musician is Ray Charles. Her mother keeps hiding her harmonica, but Ava always finds it. I didn't want to include the over-10-minute "Bigmouth", but it's the song she started teaching herself harp on. Like her dad, Ava loves the blues. Unlike her dad, Ava also likes to shake her booty.

These are some of her favorite songs. This mix is for her. And for you.

Priceless moments my friend, absolutely priceless. Some gems here. My 5 year old daughter thinks James Blunt is where it's at so you have a head start on me ; ) Thanks for sharing.

It is about impossible (and also unfair) to keep the teeny boppers out of the teeny bop music (Barry), as I have learned, but it can all work. As Bob said, to each his own, it's all unknown. And with three daughters, I'm sure you really have learned to appreciate each day. Oh, yeah, fantastic mixes here as well.

A (almost) six-year-old into Ray Charles, Johnny Cash, King Curtis, Etta James and John Lee Hooker .... there is hope for the future, Delightful mix!

Thanks everyone. She does indeed display excellent taste - although it's slightly awkward having a six-year-old walk around the store singing "I've got a woman/way over town/that's good to me"!

My daughter is also called Ava so I was always going to be a bit biased towards this mix. But, hell yeah, it's fantastic. Highlights iclude the first two, the King Kurtis, the Snappy Scanty Sandwich one, and the Gnarls. Your Ava sounds like one talented young girl..

I'm pretty late to the party but been looking through your mixes and very much like what I see. I've got a 6 year old daughter too who lists The High Dials and Brian Jonestown Massacre as here fave bands, dunno where the influence is from ahem?
