I Can't Control Myself
Comment:
It's been a looooooooooong time! My life has been a rollercoaster the past few years. I passed my orals, advanced to candidacy, and then everything went to hell in a proverbial handbasket. To make a long story short, I left grad school with an M.S. in Entomology and don't plan to return for the Ph.D. So I guess you can all call me MS. Buglady...This is my first mix for a while-- I needed something upbeat and quirky to listen to and this seemed to fit the bill pretty well.
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoy!

Feedback:
Beautiful. Vintage Buglady! So very excellent to see you here again! We've missed you and your great taste!
welcome back.
This looks fantastic!
Welcome Back!!! It looks like you haven't missed a ... beat. I hope things are well with you now.
lots of good tunes here: Flaming Lips, R.E.M., Paul Weller, Pixies, Tom Jones, Sondre Lerche... and lots of interesting-looking stuff unknown to me, like "My Boy Lollipop" by Sakura and the Quests." a warm welcome back; it was a thrill to see a new buglady mix on the list today.
I love the Soft Boys, Sondre Lerche, Pixies, Flaming Lips, etc. Very nice
Wilson Pickett, Los Straightjackets, The Troggs, please don't ever leave again.
What a nice surprise! And with such a cool mix. Well, welcome back.
Wow! Thanks everybody, it's good to be back. Yes, Sport, things have calmed down for now... I just hope it lasts. =)
Love the Lips / Ween pairing, the Wicked Pickett and you can never get enough Sam Butera.
Great to see you back amongst us Deanna, tres bon melange aussi.
Funny, I have mentioned Dolly's 9 to 5 a couple times today. I think doowadette will like the Lady Sovereign. I like the Pixies, Tom Jones, Troggs, pleasantly eclectic mix.
Yay!! Welcome back, buglady! This mix looks like all kinds of awesome. Fun stuff.
Welcome back, it has been a long time. The last time you posted a mix I didn't even know about this site. This looks like my kind of mix, dig it all - especially that opening 6...
great to see you back and with a smash like this too
wow, this looks absolutely incredible. i would LOVE to hear this in full. welcome back, mixes like this are truly needed any time here. just great...
This site needs more entomologists like it needs more Beatles :). Oooh this has got me so excited I could crush a ladybird. Love Vicky Verky, there isn't enough Squeeze on AOTM. Great stuff.
Marvelous musical mishegoss from a much-missed mixer. (C'mon, say it 10 times fast...) Personally, I'd be perfectly willing to entrust my insect needs to a mere master, so who needs the damn doctorate?
Yay, Buglady!!! One of my all-time favorite AotMers!!! I'm still carrying around a mix just for you in my head. Great mix, BTW!
To echo what everyone else has been saying: Welcome back. Great looking mix. Love that PSOI track and that 26 to closing stretch is pretty nice.
My favorite San Franciscan female entomologist is back on the scene! Welcome back! Superfabulouspopmusicmix. It's like you never left. Hope we don't have to wait until 2010 for a sequel.
This looks pretty killer. Welcome back !
Great to see you back - awesome stuff, here.
I second Lally's remark. Your mixes and personality are always a huge breath of fresh air around these parts. Please keep them coming and don't disappear again! :-)
Wonderful to see another offering. You were one of the main reasons I came to these boards. Another beaut.
Welcome back indeed!
I grew up very close to Whittier Boulevard. And even cruised it!
...and as an added bonus to your AotM return, now we can listen to your mixes! thanks for adding the links; the Lady Sovereign opener was a favorite, as are tracks by Holly Golightly, Tom Jones, Erin McKeown, Maximo Park and the entire bit from R.E.M. to The Hipwaders. and "My Boy Lollipop," of course. a real fun listen.
