Comment:

Made for a friend who is looking after his mother who had a stroke a few months back. He doesn't work and gets by on a pittance so buying music is something he rarely does. His taste is varied though he detests prog rock so I couldn't resist a Pink Floyd track just to show him they had a lighter side. I played him Joanna Newsom's first LP and he was smitten so she features. Plenty of newish stuff, some old forgotten flops and the odd 60's offering. I'll be making him a companion mix.

I think Mr Coughlan's band sum this mix up in one word.. A great gesture and an even greater mix. Can't believe St Etienne have been around for 20 years now..

Looks pretty wonderful on my computer screen -- and a nice gesture for your caretaker friend. Cool Microdisney pick --- haven't heard that song in 15 years.

Looks interesting. Apples in Stereo has kinda surprised me in that I'm beginning to like their music more than I did at first listen.

It seems like we always put out mixtapes on the same day, which is a tad creepy...Anyway, once again you've left me in the dark with a million unknown bands. We need to do a trade or alt DJ mix or something, so I can actually hear some of this stuff.

I love the idea of even though you are helping him out, you are prodding him a bit with the Floyd, though Floyd is about as prog as I get.
