Comment:
Well, it's February. So, obviously, it's the perfect time to post my first 2007 "Year in the Making" Mixes. I know! How timely!Ahem...this particular blend also works as a companion piece to my previous Trip the Neon Fatastic Mix, highlighting the new wave/electro-punk/post-disco resurgence of the previous few years. So, with no further delay....GET ELECTRIFIED!!!!!P.S. The astute listener (or reader for that matter) will note that the very same Feu Therese and Black Dice songs were used on the previous mix. "Blasphemy!!! Sacrilege!!!", you might say. Can't say I'd argue, but this mix began prior, so I kept them both, as they were integral to the overall feel and flow of this mix. Please make pardons, if you'd be so kind. Bzzzzzzzzztttt!
Feedback:
I downloaded & sampled this earlier, Chris...sounds splendid! I'm gonna' burn it & slip it into the discman for my next aerobic/adrenalin rush.
Bzzzzzzztttt! indeedy. Looks wonderful mate.
Can't fault you for exploring the globe for music. As ever, fascinating.
This looks ace! I love Black Dice, and Von Sudenfed is a winner too. Half the stuff on there I don't know though to be honest but will definitely check some of it out.
downloading now . . . . which makes me very excited . . . . thanks (I know nothing at the moment) . . .
Don't know a lick, but it looks like one for the ever-growing "need to listen to soon" queue.
Love the M83 and Matthew Dear tracks.
Artist #13 says it all mon ami! & no pardons necessary if a song is worth using once on a mix then it certainly merits further use or at least so say I.
gotta admit i only know the LCD soundsystem (which was one of my handful of favorites from '07), though the rest are familiar names i've been meaning to check out - this should do the trick to get me motivated to finally do so - thanks!
had a great time dancing around the office and again while driving into Sydney CBD to this today . . . many thanks . . . must admit that I still don't know much from the listing, but it is a really great listen. Thanks again for a great listen
I'm pretty much in the dark here, but I have no doubt this is going to be a great listen. I'm currently downloading its companion mix, which somehow I'd missed out on as well, but this one is certainly bookmarked for download on my next visit to the library. If you're going to be surfacing on AotM on a more regular basis again now, I should really look into getting internet access at home ;)
This is awesome. Thanks a bunch!
A selfess act Mr Gnome, had you not have chosen this weeks MotW, there's every chance this may have been awarded it. Great choices, wonderful cover - great to see you back in full flo, Chris.
Thanks for the comment and the download. I listened and love it!
Looks great, gnome-where man. Really don't know much here, but I'll fire up the modem and give it a shot. Can't wait to hear Von Sndenfeld's version of the Family Feud theme.
I always look forward to a musicgnome mix and as always its a superb listen.
Using two tracks from a previous mix... your treading thin water, Chris!
Seriously though, this is freaking good. Gui Boratto to Von Sndenfeld got me bumpin. Amazing work.

Playing it now, Chris, great stuff. This would work on the proverbial dance floor too.
Keep this series going, let's cover all noble gases, and don't even think of skipping radon.

Holy fuck! Downloading now.
It's a gas, gas, gas! Really well put together.
Love the LCD Soundsystem and Black Dice tracks. Cpuld use a Bzzzztttt on a snowy Monday.
loved the LCD Soundsystem (you know), Studio, Feu Therese and Matthew Dear tracks the mostest. but pretty darn great from start to end. I'm looking forward to your tripping the ARGON fantastic! (though I guess radon's pretty cool too...)
Hooray for the Kathy Diamond. And Roy G. Biv.
Oh yeah, meant to ask: does the "Planete Sauvage Mix" have anything to do with our shake-y French friend?
This has a haunting quality. To me, that's electrifying.
Love this stuff...Never heard of a single artist, which makes it all the more exciting. Simply thrilling...Thank you.
I always admire the research you put into your mixes, very well done.
