Comment:
From the 70s on, my 'decades project' is split between, well, not so much genres but moods a bit. However, no strict rules were applied. This one mostly covers mainstream Rock / Pop / Folk from that era.Feedback:
Not sure how you judge what is most famous. Rock and Roll Suicide seems a strange choice, why not Jean Genie or Starman if you are going to choose another Bowie song? I would have thought they were most famous, or am I misunderstanding your concept here?
An excellent '70s compilation. I think it quite effectively walks the line in showcasing the more famous artists of the era, but at the same time throwing in a few lesser-known gems, such as Shine A Light by the Stones, Simple Twist Of Fate by Dylan, <The Great Gig In The Sky by Floyd, and The Rain Song by Zeppelin. (BTW, I've always loved the live version of that song on The Song Remains The Same soundtrack.)
Granted, you've got quite a few hits here as well (Layla, Without You, American Pie), but overall I think you strike a nice balance!

It's called "Most Famous" because the movie "Almost Famous" and its soundtrack have been a starting point (even though only the Zeppelin track is actually on the soundtrack as far as I remember)... Which reminds me: Elton John's "Amoreena" (listened to "Tiny Dancer" a little too often back in '01, still in recovery) somehow slipped from the tracklist in the transfer to this site. I'll correct that.
1,3,6,7,9,10,and 14 are all favs.
