Comment:

man, screw this. my first winter in the midwest has been nothing but a huge drag. i'm not used to spending so much time indoors, and it really feels like every time the snow finally melts, i go to sleep at night and wake up to another winter freaking wonderland. i don't know if i can stick it out for the rest of the time it takes me to get this damn Ph.D. this is my winter mix. it's a good mix of terribly depressing winter songs and happier ones. the title is obviously from the pedro the lion song, and most of the song titles themselves give away the theme. several that probably don't:
track 11 - is about canada, which is a cold place. but specifically, "the weather's cold but the guys are hot; i don't care if it snows a lot!"
track 13 - "and then came winter, and it was especially cold."
track 14 - "you said, 'it's snowing, it's snowing, and god i hate this weather.'"
track 15 - "and if our days drip like icicles.."
track 21 - "husbands in winter, they know the truth. but what can they do?"
track 24 - "frost covered the ground and snow"

for the record - both the cftpa and modest mouse songs are some of the most depressing winter songs EVER. enjoy this, and hopefully spring is around the corner.
