Comment:

The second 80s mix in my decade-project somehow evolved from watching Roman Polanski's "Frantic" (the Grace Jones track is on its soundtrack) and remembering my childhood travels to 80s Paris with my parents. Not that I or they would have listened to any of these songs back then though. But I do remember watching a Grace Jones Video in our friend's appartment there (probably "Slave to the Rhythm"), one of my first encounters with MTV, as we did not have cable at home back then. The second part of the mix feels more like New York of course and might have something to do with watching American Psycho again, as I included the "Paid in Full"-Remix from that soundtrack.

I've argued on my blog Turntable Revolution that Ghost Town was the best UK no.1 ever. Love that Grace Jones track but not sure why It's Like That and Hong Kong Garden crept into the 80's.
