Comment:

Continuing the "Year in the Making" Series, I bring to you a collection of songs not so easily categorized, but no less enjoyable. In addition, here's a little somethin' to go along with the listening experience (while pairing quite nicely with the cover art), the soon-to-be-major artistic movement, Mathematical LEGOr Sculptures. So, until we meet again...LEGO MY EGG-O!!!!</b

Noisy enuf 4 my Nordic Track workouts, Chris...and I'd better hurry, what with the advent of the (slightly) warmer weather, it'll soon be running season again!

Know only the Bjork, Vampire Weekend and No Age tracks so, much to explore. LOVE the lego site.

Deerhof has been a recent discovery and they certainly kick this mix off with aplomb. I'm only halfway into it as I type but it's too fine to wait any longer.
note to g.a.b. - that's why I do brisk walking outdoors, just can't do without the mixes.

had a dream two nights ago that I was staying in a run-down hotel in Europe where The Go! Team also happened to be staying during their tour. the drummer returned to the hotel early and alone and said he'd quit the band because they hadn't been paying him. when The Go! Team all came back later, they asked if I wanted to be their new drummer and I happily accepted. what does it all mean? anyway, can't wait to hear this and will write again with my report.

By my informal tally, the two songs that appeared most on Best of 07 lists were Myriad Harbor and Paper Planes.

It was a good year Chris. I hear The Go! Team just changed personnel and now has a really kick-ass drummer.

There's a lot I missed in 2007. Makes me wonder what I missed in the preceding years.

I know enough here to know this is sheer class. M.I.A, Electrelane(rip), Vic C. And that opening 7 is very cool..

A first rate delicacy, Chris. There is no limits on 2007-which is good.

Put me on the Vampire Weekend bandwagon too. Haven't heard the latest Vic Chesnutt but I'll bet it's some good stuff as well. Nice collection!

2007. Not a bad year for music, eh? Lovin' the Campy-C-Knows, MIA, Go-Team & Vamps. Be sure to cath the latter performing on SNL this week. Did they come out of nowhere or what?

Battles and Vampire Weekend have been on my favorites list. I'm sitting at the kitchen table right now with my laptop on Sunday morning drinking tea with the NY Times spread out before me looking out the window at a blue sky and a foot of new snow with St. Vincent on the stereo. Looking forward to hearing lots more from this list especially the new Vic Chesnutt.

I think this is one of your top 2007 mixes so far. Love these: 1, 4, 12. And the 14 to closing stretch is an amazing listen.

Not a big Vic Chesnutt fan, but that cover art makes my day. Beautiful.
