Comment:
Folky, smokey, & a little bit hokey - a carefully calibrated sequence of songs intended to nudge the listener from a thoughtful mood to a thoughtless one. Transitions are intended each song to perk up your ears for some element in the following track, so that none should actually slip by unnoticed. ((The mix title is from a throwaway line in the Zappa/Persuasions song.))
Feedback:
Great stuff Jeff, like the 3/4 combo. The girl in the cover art should be sectioned immediately though..
Ps.. got your mix yesterday, cheers muchly - expect another cmnt on Mish Mash very soon.

Your coming up with new stuff nice to see it.I like the cover.
this looks tremendous, i would love to hear it...
I'm with the rest of the fellas below. Great stuff. It's good to see this type of thing from you now & again.
I met Tift Merritt briefly following a show this week. I'm liking the Billy Bragg and Wilco, Arlo Guthrie, Guy Clark, and Richard and Linda as well.
I've got a soft spot for Harriet Wheeler, always had, and that closer is great!
Yeah, lots of great picks. I'm likin' this...
This look like a ton of fun. And there seem to be quite a few menu items in the title listing - let's eat.
Quintessential joey de vivre.
The 3-6 run is killer. The cover will haunt my dreams.
Always good to see Todd Snider show up, and love that Beth Orton track...
Hallelujah! God, I love that Sundays song...
I only know a few here, but I'd love to hear anything that starts off with "Hot Club of Cowtown." and I need to give these transitions you speak of a once-over too.
The eyes have it! Don't know much here, except for the Sundays and Hot Club of Cowtown (my sister used to milk them when they went on tour). Keep posting, hot stuff.
This is awesome, Jeff. Great closer.
loads to love here . . . . excellent . . .
Lots of great artists on this one, and many songs that I don't know but must check out if they are on your playlist. This is nudging me into an excited mood.
Tremendous set. Ditto Salman on the closer.
PS: Have you heard Shelby Lynne's new album "Just a Little Lovin'"? It's wonderful; you'd like it, too.
Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key is one of the perfect moments in music.
