6 years ago Kathryn was 25 and this mix is to celebrate every year this lovely woman has been on the planet. There'll be an update when she reaches 50.

A song from every year Kathryn's been alive, starting in 1977 with the Ramones.

so many great songs here, what a way to celebrate - 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 12, 15, 16, 17, 20 & 25 are all corkers - nary a dud here, really

lucky Kathyrn to be so close to a single disc. I on the other hand just did the 2 volume update. It would be interesting to see what volume one would have been for me if it had been made in 1983.

Hey hey, KathrynandRupert! What's happening? Quite a cool lineup you've got here - and for once I actually know the names of practically all the bands in this mix! (Yeah, I know - shock! shock!)

The only two songs that I'm actually all that familiar with are the Ramones' Sheena Is A Punk Rocker and Suede's excellent Metal Mickey (great choice!). I do have PJ Harvey's Dry on cassette, but I haven't actually listened to it in ages. (And then only once or twice - not really being a fan of the Steve Albini sound, you understand...)

Here's to the next 25! :-)

Oh! Oh! I forgot to mention the Cure's Boys Don't Cry! That's another good one. I like that one a lot, too! :-)

Damn! Come to think of it I like Roam by the B52's, too! For some reason the title didn't click...and then all of a sudden the tune flashed into my head!

Brilliant and sweet. It's always nice to see your names on the recent submissions list. I'm never disappointed.

Everything with a capital E is fantastic here. Metal Mickey - possibly my favourite Suede single, that or The Drowners. The wonderful Turning Tide. Special praise for Dalliance though, two minutes of immense beauty and then Kerranngg!!! brilliant...

Very cool, happy b-day, love to see Veruca Salt once again. Choice Ryan Adams, among the other beauties.

Joyous, tremendous, and sweet, presumably like Kathryn herself. Gorgeous work, as always, my friend.

lubbly jubbly, except that Soft Cell pick is the one Mark Almond / Soft Cell track that I absolutely cannot get my head around . . . I don't know why, his voice just gets on my tits on that one . . . everything else is very cool, however.

I love seeing personal mixes like this one here. Never had the discipline to try something like this myself, but I've often sited Rocket to Russia as my downfall.

Smashing mix for a smashing girl. Great tunes from OJ, Broadcast, Housemartins, Smiths... Looking forward to to seeing the mix when she reaches 50 -- though I'm sure she's not looking forward to reaching 50 ;) Was the cover shot at HDIF? I've never seen a colour photograph taken in that place. Work that skirt, Kathryn!

this mix is very nicely done.

as for the lack of NZ on 'around the world', i didn't have any tracks with 'NZ' or 'kiwi' in the title ... at least the travel line from pitcairn to taz travels *across* NZ ;)

Great mix. I keep a playlist with the same concept for myself, although I now have 34 songs in it!
