Comment:
31 Low- Nowhere Man
This is a little something I whipped up for the bugman. I recently
played a few Beatles covers for him and he liked them so much I decided
to compile some of my favorite
covers of songs recorded (although not
all officially released) by the Beatles. I arranged the songs
chronologically by the dates they were originally recorded/released.
Thanks to Avocado Rabbit for the Fiona Apple track.
Track 1: 1962 single (A-side)
Track 2: 1962 Recorded Live at
the Cavern Club
Track 3: 1963 Recorded at Dick
James Publishing Studio
Tracks 4-8: 1963 "Please
Please Me"
Track 9: 1963 single (A-side)
Track 10: 1963 Broadcast on
"Pop Go the Beatles" (BBC)
Tracks 11-13: 1963 "With the
Beatles"
Tracks 14-15: 1964 "A Hard
Day's Night"
Tracks 16-17: 1964 Singles

Sale" Sessions (unreleased)

Feedback:
great piece of work here
How can you go wrong here? Just off the top of my head, I'm looking forward to the Booker T, but everything looks wonderful.
This is great. What a great collection!
Sweet. I'm not generally a fan of Beatles covers mixes because the mixmakers almost inevitably go for the campiest, most execrable versions to make some kind of point that's lost on me. Your mix, however, obviously stems from a love of the band and a desire to compile some of the most genuinely cool interpretations of the Fabs' work. Nicely done.
I've been working on a Beatles covers mix now for 3 months. Well you beat me to the punch and it was a knockout blow. I think I'll wait a few months before I compile mine so this sterling effort has faded from fellow AOTMers memories. Only difference being all mine will be Lennon/McCartney originals.
Tutti's Trombones, the Chipmunks, & Lord Sitar! Yay! & that #55 is one that outdoes the original -
inspired title, too!

Yip, this is incredible.
Very nicely done.
Rupert:
I was tempted to limit myself to Lennon/McCartney songs (of which there are plenty!), but love some of their own early cover versions so much that I expanded my criteria. I drew the line at including the original versions of songs the Beatles covered.

That Rickie Lee Jones track got me started on a Beatles cover theme mix. I may steal some of these. Thanks!
Good grief... impressive collection you've assembled here!
This looks great. But didn't Little Willie John write and record "Leave My Kitten Alone" before the Beatles recorded it?
Really dig 2, 7, 9 and that sensational 11-15 stretch.
Note to K&R - this mix will never fade from my memory. Absolutely terrific Buglady. Thanks so much for the links. Tk 41 intruiges me the mostest...
I think the word is "definitive". Really great compilation, Buglady...Extremely well done! Thanks most of all for the links...:)
Incredible collection of covers here! And I can't thank you enough for the links!!
i'm such a sucker for beatles covers, i can't help it. they're my all time favorite group, so my standards should really be higher, but i just love the joy & enthusiasm placed into most of the performances. this is absolutely fabulous, deanna, really, i'm just aching to hear it. honestly, this would totally be my MOTW if the MOTW page actually worked for me....
There is something about the Beatles that I could never get into like really really get into. I'll be checking this out though.
Amazing work, Beatle Buglady!!! We gotta do that trade thing again one of these days as I'd love to hear this gem.
Love the Ella, Rickie Lee and Fiona covers here. My two favorite Beatles covers, though, are Ray Charles take on "Eleanor Rigby" and Bobby McFerrin's "From Me to You".
I really like Ray Charles' version of Eleanor Rigby too, but I wanted to use the Bobbie Gentry version. I suspect there may be enough versions of Eleanor Rigby for an entire mix.
Why, you may be right, here's 128
Some of my favourite Fabs covers here -extra kudos for the Cocker pick instead of the more obvious With A Little Help
Add me to the list of those working on a Beatles covers mix, though mine is going the jazz route. Awesome effort here.
brilliant ! so glad that you left Peter Sellers off !
BeatlesBeatlesBeatles. I love Cornershop's contribution.
I enjoyed this a lot! Several tracks on here I haven't heard in a long time, and several I have never heard before. Thanks for the dl.
Great job.
