Comment:
Steroids Is BadDad says: Ever since she heard Redbird Fever a couple years ago, doowadette has been planning this mix. I had been hesitant since they stunk it up last year and then signed about every steroid casualty on the free-agent market this winter (hence the McGwire-inspired title). But they are playing in a style reminiscent of the Gashouse Gang (the young fellers in b/w in the middle of the picture) this year, so we are getting a bit more excited. Since the Cardinals' have such a long, storied history, it is only fitting that the mix also look a tad long in the tooth, at least till it gets to the party at Busch III segment at the end. Needless to say, my little one took care of that bit.
Daughter says: Let's go Cards! Let's Go! *clap* *clap* Pujols, Molina and Ozzie, 3 of the best (according to me) Smashin', catchin', and flippin'. And no I was NOT describing the bestest players ever, I was describing me! Yep, that's right I play softball. Red Bird Fever has been one of my favorite songs since my Aunt Anne has played for me last summer. When I told my dad about this mix he immediately wanted to put his Boob Dylan (No, that was NOT a typo) singing the greatest baseball song ever made! Last year, my chorus from school went to go sing at the baseball and Fredbird picked me up and put me on the field! I was sooo embarrassed! (but at least he didn't beat me up like he did to that cubbie). I do also favor Stan the Man (and so does my dad). And, remember children, Steroids is Bad!
PS We want to thank Joe & Steve for a couple of these picks, as well as Bob for a couple others. And kudos to Strange Loop for the bonus track.
Feedback:
Steroids Is bad. Mix is Good. I look forward to listening to this - very eclectic..
"When you pay off the first baseman every month, who gets the money?...every dollar of it." This mix is as entertaining as the Who's on first routine. Which, by lucky happenstance. appears on the mix. It's a thoroughly comprehensive double-header. Great notes, great theme, great track list, great mix. Hey batter, batter, batter....
One thing about St. Louis... We LOVE our baseball! This is a great mix and a great Cardinal collage to boot.
Love that bonus track by the way ; )

I lived in Massachusetts most of my life, so guess which team I'm a fan of?
I was born in Michigan and live in Tennesse but my father with all his wisdom raised me as a Cardinal fan. I love this mix. Someday I will get to the new Busch but not this year as i have other big baseball plans.
Ditto what avocado rabbit said, so we'll borrow your Red for the BoSox, too! You're such a clever lass!
Nah-ah! I won't let you take my red from the cardinals...our 4th worst enemy (sorry to all the Red Sox fans!) =PMy dad said he couldn't even look at a Sam Adams bottle between October 2004 and October 2006.
Home run- a great mix.
Looks fun. I'm a Pirates fan, although I have to admit that I've long since given up on following them. There are only so many under-500 seasons one can sit through and still retain an interest.
not a fan of sports but i am a fan of this mix
Me, I support......no I won't say it as it'll mean nothing to many Americans as it involves football (soccer to Americans) and I don't want to encourage any prejudice against my mixes from UK posters. Let me say though I've been feeling bloody frustrated with my team for the last few years.
Meanwhile your mix....I'll have to plead ignorance to most of it except for Kool and Gwen.

I'm right there with you, Doowadette...Go Cards! Great job on the mix.
I'm also a Pirates fan so I follow football. I wonder how many versions and spoofs of "Who's on First?" are out there? hmmm....
