I made this mix in preparation for a much-needed road trip for me and my husband. It's surprising how hard it is to find songs that are really appropriate for long-term romances--you know, the ones that aren't all sunny and butterflies, but are more like your favorite concert t-shirt from ten years ago. I suppose this mix might make it look like we are in tough times, but really it's motivated more by that sense that we've been so busy with the mundane that we just haven't been able to enjoy each other's company, which is why we're both really looking forward to this trip. This is the first real mix I've made in a long time, and I'm pretty pleased with it.
