Comment:

The Bugman and I got hitched on Saturday, and it went wonderfully. We
had a break in the awful smoke from the 800 + wildfires going in
California, the sun broke through the clouds, and there was lots of
good food and fun people in a gorgeous garden setting . Behind it
all was playing a special playlist of hand-picked tunes. Many thanks to
Sammyg 123, Joey De Vivre and Doowad for their musical contributions.
Bugman and I crafted this alternating DJ mix as a wedding favor for the
guests. The first and last tracks were in the processional. I walked
down the aisle to Amy Winehouse.

Congratulations! When you said you walked down the aisle to Amy I was hoping it would be to Back To Black....just my perverse sense of humour. May you have a very long and happy marriage.

looks great! while you were getting married i was walking around lake merritt and tossing back drinks at the ruby room. i too am glad that the bay area skies cleared up a bit for everyone.

best of luck in your marriage. with a playlist like this to kick it off, things are looking good.

Mazel tov, indeed. Ah, to throw a wedding where one can select one's own music, rather than letting some lame cover band run through the usual suspects (as was the case for me, since my wife put the kibosh on my personal playlist... what, Sonic Youth isn't romantic?). Very nice.

it looks like this mix was posted twice... are these "his & hers" versions you're submitting now? "I Hear a Symphony," "To Know Him Is to Love Him," "And I Love Her," "I Only Want to Be With You..." what a wonderful way to get hitched! congratulations, buglady! hope you have many, many wonderful years together.

What?! No "Love Shack" or Kool & the Gang's "Celebration"?! No "Chicken Dance"? What were you thinking? California State Law requires that at least one of the above be played by said DJ or guy responsible for pressing the "play" button ;) But of course this was no ordinary wedding, as it involved the esteemed Buglady and Bugman. So of course it deserved a special playlist, devoid of all the cliched wedding reception songs that I hear everytime I photograph a wedding. Plenty of lovely songs here to make a special day even more special -- and some worthy contributors as well. BTW, how did the ceremonial ladybug release go?

No ladybug release, Moe, but there were lots of butterflies flitting about the garden. I also made origami butterflies that were placed strategically around the garden. My friends and I also hand-painted fondant butterflies and ladybugs to decorate the wedding cake. All in all, I think it was pretty obvious that it was an entomologist's wedding.

I got some Bugmail yesterday... ;-) this is just lovely and filled with affection. really liked the Barry Louis Polisar/Dinah Washington pairing, also especially liked the Barbara Lewis, Holly Golightly and, of course, Dusty Springfield tunes. I bet your guests were on cloud nine (and you and Bugman were on cloud 10) with this music playing on your special day.
