Something Special...
Comment:
Flight of the Conchords started out as a musical comedy duo, playing
music festivals and small clubs. These tracks mostly taken from live
club performances, their live "Folk the World Tour" CD and their "The
Distant Future" EP. I had to include Leggy Blonde from their
self-titled CD (I LOVE the office supply percussion!!!-- you have to
have seen the episode from their HBO series to really appreciate it
both visually and aurally). I love these guys, their banter cracks me
up every time and their lyrics have been known to force tears of
joy from eyes. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing them perform live
yet, I hope this mix comes close to replicating that experience.
Feedback:
Very cool, thanks for the head's up for those of us on basic cable...
I haven't listened much, preferring the songs in the context of the show, though obviously many of these stand up very well on their own.Doowad: The first season of the show is available on DVD; it's a truly great show, occasionally in a laugh-out-loud way (particularly as concerns Murray, their manager), but more often as just a consistently amusing, and very, very dry piece of comedy for music fans.
an ex-friend of mine was hell-bent on making me love these guys, so they leave a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth - have to admit they are legitimately hilarious though....
Buglady, you've got it going on! I love me some FOTC! They've appeared on three out of my last four mixes -- one has yet to be posted here. I've really only heard their proper Sub Pop full-length, so I'm definitely lookig forward to hearing these live tracks. It should keep me occupied until season 2 rolls along. I might even have to sign up for HBO. Now back to sorting out the recycling...
Well Kathryn decided it wasn't funny so we never got to enjoy FOTC, even though we only watched 5 minutes. I think that was a big mistake and I intend to watch it next time it appears on TV.
Awesome. "The humans are dead... we poisoned their asses." That's my fave moment.
Look pretty great to me...!
fantastic show
Fixed the Link.
Just about my favourite TV find of the last 3 or 4 years. SO great - I LOVE it. Cheers for the link D :)
