Here Comes the Summer
Comment:
31 David Bowie- Louie, Louie Go Home
Here it is: my first summer mix of 2008. It's been road-tested and
shown to provide a perfect soundtrack for summer road trips. Since gas
is so expensive now, why not take a virtual road trip, and bop along to
the summer beat. 100% fun! (this is not a guarantee)
Feedback:
Personally partial to the Apples, Undertones and Wilco tracks, but I'm guessing your near-guarantee (pay no attention to the fine print!) is solid on this one.
A Mixed Bag of Delights. I'm downloading this eagerly. Can't wait to hear Bam B-B-Bam Bam Bam!
The last bit looks as good as it gets! I'm glad my security suite let me see this!
seems quite a bit paradoxical for a diehard cynic to love summery pop tunes, doesn't it, yet it's one of my passions in life. go figure. this looks absolutely stunning - 2-4 (3 features on the summer mix i've been working on), 8 (which was in running but was cut from mine), 18, 21 (my favorite elvis tune), 26 (which was on my summer mix from last year) & 29 are all knock-outs.
Looks great - I really like the 27-31 stretch!
Summer means: blockbuster action flicks, Daniele Steele type novels and fluffy pop. Nothing wrong with any of that. Pack up your troubles and grab the sunscreen.
France Gall is summer personified. This mix is sure to tease the sun out .
Looks like sweet, clever and cool 100% fun to me! (Am I the only person who thinks that France Gall's name is some kind of joke, btw? Or just the last person catching on to that idea?)
No. 4 is on a summer mix I'm working on! And what KathrynandRupert said about France Gall, so true.
Rob: I always thought the aural redundancy of her name was a tad suspicious.
Hal Blaine = required listening.
Me like! So much cool stuff here that I don't know where to begin. I'm sure this will be in heavy rotation for the upcoming road trip.
This mix is like Baskin Robbins---many "flavors" to suit all tastes. Great "menu"!
took me a few days to get to this one (I was busy fighting off worm attacks)... but at least it's still summertime. lots of treat on this one too... like Conway Twitty (I didn't know I could like one of his songs that much), The Detroit Cobras, Edgar Allen & the Po' Boys, France Gall, Hal Blaine. but the icing on the cake is that Tom Jones song. I was just listening to that LP over the weekend and thinking, "man, what a damn fine song." and then here it is! what incredible taste you have, buglady.
fun fun fun, love to see 3-4 and 19-21
