Comment:

Yet another tape for the car. This tape was made entirely by directed chance, where I've been keeping a list of songs I want to put on car tapes for a while now, and it got up to over 250 songs, which was far too unwieldy, so I used a random number generator (random.org is my favorite website) to pick the songs. I had a few rules set up-I could try up to three times to find an appropriate song was the main one-so that things didn't get too awkward. It didn't always work out ideally, but there are some brilliant transitions on here that I never would have thought of on my own-the last two songs on side A and the first to on side B, say, or putting Van Dyke Parks between Stereolab and Al Green. I like random numbers. Oh, and what the hell is up with artofthemix forcing me to spell things wrong and not letting me use em-dashes?

You have superior taste indeed. How I love the Homosexuals and that Wire song is one of their best. Other great choices: MBV, Joy Division, Stereolab, Orange Juice....and one day I must get that first Comus LP.

The spelling restrictions is all for the greater good. Though I lean towards your older artists here, I also found lots to love, Os Mutantes and the VDP-Al Green, very nice.
