Comment:
Some of y'all knew this one was comin'. It started with listening to The Black Angels "Snake in the Grass" one night and realizing that it has almost the exact same drum beat as Kyuss' "Demon Cleaner" off of the stoner classic "Welcome To Sky Valley". (which is, if not in my top 10 albums of all time, is certainly in the top 20). Of course, a mix had to come forth and it all kinda has that hazy, fever dream, sun-baked quality to it that just fits in with my summer of walking everywhere I go in the lovely NC heat. I know it's a lot of looooong jams, but all this shit has been in heavy rotation for yrs truly these days. (oh, that Paavoharju album is fucking INCREDIBLE. Seriously)Feedback:
I still don't have a copy of the Led Zeppelin tribute disc Encomium, alas! But one of these days, I'll check it out just to have this version of Down By The Seaside!
there's little else i love more than sprawling jams like these, seriously - the black angels & mazzy star are favoirtes - is an upload forthcoming? i just cannot get enough of your mixes - the last few are still in regular rotation
much like the guy before me, i love mazzy star & the black angels! haven't heard the other tracks.
oj, discovery time
Looking forward to checking this out. What I know I like lots.
Anything put together with the Black Angels as a starting point is certainly worth checking out. Would love to hear this.
Jesus fucking Christ I need to hear this NOW. Perfect, perfect, perfect....
Glad to see you here, Shawn, I'll be lookign for the download with baited breath.Cheers, doowad
Wow, this looks great - I must get this now as well!
I'll be checking out that Paavoharju album, cheers. Looks pretty great - well, I only know 2 & 5 pre-listen, but it's a Porter concoction so...
Hell to the yeah for the Paavoharju. Love that band. Great first track too.
