"last-songs-on-the-album, out-of-context film stills, suspension bridges, pristine emotion, and poetic truths of high school journal keepers"
...with some titling help provided by lee ranaldo.

spent forever working out the sequencing of the tape: a fluid, natural, organic, but somehow unpredictable progression of songs that all end up with an element of ringing emptiness, subtle yearning, or just damn effective evocation. sad but hopeful: the middle of the night in a bedroom or twilight driving in a car: solitude or intimate company: it all works beautifully. i promise.

i made this tape with the intention of giving it to someone. i still have that intention. i just haven't found the person yet.

uh, you are amazing. this is amazing. god, this is good. "ringing emptiness" is the most beautiful song in music and, believe me, i know exactly what you mean. when a song sounds like it's the "last song", i only love it that much more. and a whole mixtape of them, well...

Oh, this is very pretty. Fancy doing a trade for "little stabs of happiness"? (Or others that I'm going to put up any day now.)
