Comment:

The 'obligatory' Halloween mix. Tried avoiding repetition from past Halloween mixes - no Alice Cooper, no Doors, no Blue Oyster Cult, no Wire, and no Ministry helped. Title courtesy Joey, Johnny, Dee-Dee, and Tommy.

Oh my God, this looks freaking awesome!! :-) :-) :-) OK, OK, granted, I don't know each and every single track here, but I just love the eclecticism on display here, with punks (and proto-punks) like MC5, the Velvets, Stooges, Ramones, and Black Flag rubbing shoulders with Billie Holiday, Kenny Rogers, Robert Johnson, Leadbelly, Vangelis, etc.

Overall, I'd have to say that this is one Halloween party I would seriously love to be invited to! :-)

Also, I love the fact that you o-pened up with the Dawn Of The Dead trailer (for the '78 original, right??) followed by Joy Division's Dead Souls. And then you close with a piece by Vangelis from Blade Runner followed by the Velvets' I Heard Her Call My Name. In my book, a good o-pening sequence and a good closing sequence go a long, long way! Wow...the contrasts alone make this mix worth listening to...like Darth, I'm loving the proto/punk tracks, as well as Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, and Lead Belly, of course.
