Comment:

Title from the Ramones. I will go on the permanent record as not being the world's biggest Ted Nugent and Guns N' Roses fan. I've never been too keen on the Nuge's music and his politics (and hunting videos) only make things worse. The cowbell obviously makes all the difference with that particular Nuge song. I loved Guns N' Roses twenty years ago (I was 9 years old the first time I listened to APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION) & first gave up on them after Nirvana exploded. A few years back I gave Axl and the Boys another shot and gave up once again 'cause I can only tolerate a few of their songs. It is the wailing of Axl Rose that grates on the ears, plus I go to school at a NCAA Division II football powerhouse that has loved to blast "Welcome to the Jungle" all day for many a year during football season. Axl doesn't ruin the Johnny Thunders original as he did "Knockin' On Heaven's Door."

Fuggin AWESOME dude! This is the best mix I've come across on AOTM. To open with Murray's hilarious loungey Star Wars theme is GENIUS! I am a fan, dude. Instant 5-stars!

Now this is a really cool mix! I like your picks from the Ramones, Velvets, Doors, Nugent, GN'R...and the Living Colour and AC/DC tracks make for the perfect closer! Now as far as the Nuge is concerned, I totally get where you're coming from. Personally, while I think that Ted totally rocks out on the guitar, I'm not into his politics either! (In fact, in the past I've sort of playfully - albeit not spitefully - taken the piss out of Ted in my own mixes, by placing one of his songs in a sequence next to another song whose lyrics undercut the sentiments of the Nugent number! For example, I once placed "Weekend Warriors" back-to-back with Pearl Jam's "Glorified G" (ha, ha, ha)! Elsewhere, I started a mix with the '74 Amboy Dukes number "Lady Luck" and immediately followed it with Dylan's "Ballad Of Hollis Brown" (DOUBLE-ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!) ;-) Now as far as GN'R is concerned, the only thing they've ever really done that's given me pause in terms of being a fan of theirs is "One In A Million." (And lyrics aside, that's still a cool song musically - go figure!)

Hey man, I don't wanna get all 'Single White Female' on you, but I just made this very same mix for myself (not quite - I've got 'normal' versions in place of your demos and live tracks)! Fuggin top listen!
