Comment:

This was a mix I made as a Christmas present this year for my HUSBAND. Husband! Yes, I got hitched in November to the man who has been with me for 3 years now, and today we are living in Mexico after a tumultuous few years in New York.

I book-en/ded the mix with "Fake Empire," two different versions than the album (Boxer) version, because this song means a lot to us both. And it was the processional for our wedding, which we had in a Brooklyn loft - amazing, by the way.

In between are songs that have meant much to me over the years, along with a few newer tracks. (Shout out to Britt Daniel for the amazing Feist remix!) The emphasis was on sex and transce/ndent love and growing up. And on me, what has meant a lot to me, what music moves me in my quieter moments: the kind of music you don't throw on in the car, maybe (well, unless you're me) but that requires attention, care, an o/pen ear.

We listened to it together on Christmas Eve, track by track, sitting on the floor next to the speakers... Now THAT'S a husband for an AOTM member, wouldn't you say? I think even some tears were shed. Pues. Feliz Navidad!

Note: the slashes are not typos, they were the only way I could post the mix thanks to the issue with certain letter combinations on this website. Wacky!

íFelicidades por tu boda! Where are you at in Mexico? We lived in Guadalajara for the first 7 years of our marriage. Love the Regina Spektor most of all here.

Me gusta el parte en la cuenta cuando su esposo y su estuvieron escuchando, cancion a cancion. Que bonita. Ademas, me encantan todos los artistas. El titulo me dijo que quisiera esta mezcla.
