Thank you, thank you very much... (10 Covers of Elvis Songs)
Comment:
Yeah I cheated! The first song is my own personal mix of two songs, so what? I just couldn't choose which one I liked better. I also run the blog so I can break the rules kiddies. Anyway, Happy late B-Day to The King. As a side note The Residents do some really great and twisted Elvis covers, I would've included one on here but in trying make the mix flow they were just TOO weird for it. So I suggest you look them up on Youtube, really unique stuff and the videos aren't too shabby either. Hard Headed Woman - Wanda Jackson (Came out around the same time but I prefer The Queen Of Rockbilly's version because it just puts a better slant on the lyrics having a women sing it.) Wooden Heart - Hortense Ellis (Considered by many Elvis's most laughable recording ever done. I may argue this version done by one of Reggae's legends saves the song from it formage roots)Next Week's Theme: You must create a 10 song soundtrack to your own epic intergalactic space opera film. Here is what you need to include.
1. A opening credits song possibly the title of the film and the song will be the same (Ghostbusters, MIB...)
2. The hero's theme/anthem
3. The song playing on the jukebox during the space bar fight and/or dance scene
4. The hero's sidekick who dies theme, usually something silly or really pumped up (think Top Gun & 'Great Balls Of Fire' from Top Gun).
5. The flying car chase sequence music
6. The love theme
9. The enemies theme
8. Epic space battle music
9. The big end of the film duel between good and evil
10. Closing credits song
