Comment:

So many women so little time. No Nana Mouskouri, Edith Piaf, Teresa Teng, Lydia Mendoza, Laura Nyro, Carole King, Bonnie Raitt... GAH!!!

Next Week's Theme: We say goodbye to the ladies, it was SO much fun. Okay next month begins National poetry month and while I have moaned many a time at how folks assume poetry is song lyrics and vice versa, for next week I want songs by 10 of your favorite songwriters e.g. Gershwin, Elvis Costello, Billie Holiday, Elton John etc). The song does not have to be sung by the writer mind you (in fact covers would be better because it would just how great the lyrics are as they can be so versatile). Besides, I always felt that Bob Dylan never sung his songs as well as others did, but you know good songwriters. And don't forget just because we spent a month giving women their dues doesn't mean we go back to ignoring them. You still must recognize two women (in this case writers and musicians) on your mixtape!
